For some believers, daily reading of the Bible is a task—but memorization? Absolutely impossible. With the hustle and bustle of our lives, retaining Scripture in long-term memory usually falls to the back of the spiritual to-do list. Yet Jennie Sierra learned something naturally simple and astounding: memorizing one verse of Scripture per day can profoundly revolutionize your existence. More than a routine, it became a lifeline—a happy, Spirit-led rhythm that broadened her mind, her heart, and her whole faith journey. Her testimony attests that such a simple daily habit will release supernatural outcomes, clearer understanding, and rich intimacy with God.
Jennie’s Scripture memory journey began not in seminary school or in a high-level Bible course but in an inner city start up church classroom teaching children aged 2–14. She made a game by asking questions at the end of each class to see which half of the class remembered more, and observed how difficult it was for them to retain what was taught. So with her creativity and passion, it turned into a game—something enjoyable and accessible to help them retain and understand God’s Word. Something that never crossed her mind is how much it would benefit her also! This game benefited not just the children but solved her own struggle to remember Scripture as she played the game with her son every night. Something previously impossible became memorable as they had fun with it together. This lesson was her diving board into the value of enjoying the Word. It also gave her the courage to be able to share her faith with others, now feeling equipped to answer any questions they might have about living out the Word.
That game evolved into “Biblelivia,” a Scripture-based game Jennie is going to share with the world soon to help others have fun learning and talking about the Word. “Biblelivia” isn’t only a game, it is a bridge between fun and faith. It enables to internalize Scripture and live It so It naturally comes up in everyday conversations because it’s in the fabric of who they are. By laughter, repetition, and Spirit-led awareness, the Word of God isn’t just to be read and learned, but lived. The secret of having fun with God is key to transformation and enables us to be confident and fearless about speaking the Truth in Love, anywhere, as He leads. Jennie is planning on marketing the game soon.
One of the most remarkable things about Jennie’s routine is the way in which the Holy Spirit leads her to her daily verse. Every morning, Jennie asks God to bring a single Scripture into the spotlight. It fits what someone in her world needs – a timely reminder, healing verse or a breakthrough revelation. Over and over again, the Spirit validates the correct verse at the correct time, and it serves to show that God doesn’t just speak in His Word—He speaks in the now with it.
There’s actually scientific backing to Jennie’s joy-filled approach. Neuroscience demonstrates that memory enhances when learning involves joy as well as our brain. Jennie’s strategy – driven by passion for people, joy and the Word – uses a powerful key to retention. Passion and purpose make the perfect recipe for retention. When we have emotional connection to a verse, when it comes alive in our life or testimony, it’s stored not only in the mind but in the heart as well.
Above all else, Jennie’s testimony serves to remind us that scripture memorization isn’t about verse-collecting. It’s about communing with the living Word of the living God. It’s not about religious duty—it’s about spiritual transformation. With one verse a day, Jennie walks in healing, in freedom, in authority, and in clarity. She is no longer afraid of feeling inadequate or not ready in conversation. God’s Word is in her heart, ready to be on her lips as Holy Spirit guides, to inspire others and give them grace to meet their needs.
With this habit of loving and living Scripture, It became her anchor, her sword, and her delight. And how do you get started? Simple. Request one verse from the Holy Spirit today. Record it. Speak it out loud as you envision it and pray it, 10 + times, until it sets in your heart. Your declarations are powerful. Think about it as you walk, wash the dishes, or commute. Speak it over yourself and share it with others. Allow it to put down roots in your life. Don’t be concerned about perfection—God isn’t evaluating performance. He’s celebrating your heart and intentions. He’s drawing you deeper into unity with Himself as His body on earth. As Jennie would say, “It’s not about how much you know, it’s about how much you live.” Allow the Word to take hold, and observe the difference “one verse at a time” focus will make in your life, your faith, and your world.
That game later evolved into “Biblelivia,” a Scripture-based game Jennie used to encourage others to have fun and enjoy learning the Word. “Biblelivia” isn’t only a game, but a bridge between people fun and faith. It enables Jennie and others to internalize the Scripture to the point that it naturally moves into the conversations of everyday life.
